Marisa Davison is a loving pediatric occupational therapist who holds a strong passion for helping children fulfill independent and meaningful lives. She graduated with honors from New York University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. She is a board-certified and registered occupational therapist. Marisa completed her clinical rotations at NYU Langone (Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital), Mount Sinai Beth Israel, and Bellevue. She has experience practicing in many different settings including in hospitals, homes, schools, sensory gyms, and daycares.
Marisa is constantly evolving her practice and draws from the unique lived experiences of neurodivergent advocates. She utilizes a strengths and relationship-based play approach to connect with and engage children at all developmental levels. She believes building trust, connection, and emotional attunement is central before a child can feel safe and secure to challenge themselves. This is where growth happens- confidence and self-esteem blossom through both carefully constructed and naturally occurring micro-challenges within a supportive therapy environment. She works closely with families and other disciplines to collaboratively design individualized and holistic treatment plans with the child and family’s goals at the center.
Focus is on using a child’s strengths to build confidence and self-esteem while also empowering the child and fostering growth – guiding kids to find their inner glow.
